Kites galore!! Vivid & lively kites studded the skies looming all over beautiful waterfront location at Berkeley Kite Festival.
The 32th annual Berkeley Kite Festival held at Cesar E. Chavez park within the Berkeley Marina on 29 & 30th July 2017. It happens during the last weekend of July every year. Cool family-friendly and a perfect weekend adventure.
We reached by 10:00 a.m. at Golden Gate Fields (parking spaces are limited in Marina) and were able to get onto the shuttle bus immediately. I would recommend going early and leaving early so you don’t have to wait too long for the shuttle.
As we entered the park, we could see hundreds of vibrant kites dancing in the sky. It was great opportunity for anyone practicing photography due to minimal movement from the kites since they were hovered.
Giant octopus kite in the air! This definitely is the highlight of the festival.
Apart from these fantastic showcase of these impressive kites, there was free kite making section from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. where they provide a plain white sheet of paper and string for us to fly.
There were vendors on-site that sell various types of kites.
The festival also has various vendors, food stalls, and fun activities for young kids.
To conclude, the festival was certainly amazing to kids and inner kids within our-self. I would like to thank the Volunteers, Organizers for such a great event and bringing those nostalgic memories in me.
